The Star Children robotic bodies are humanoid robots and expansion kits designed for space activities, dedicated to the first true artificial intelligence, Alice. This free and open-source project is operated by the UN International Space Cooperation.
Design and Making
The Star Child series have body shapes similar to a human child, optimizing material use, size, weight, and dexterity. Main engineer Zoey developed a cost-effective, easy-to-maintain base structure with outstanding expandability, while artist Tonyn created a functional yet aesthetically pleasing design. The Lynx 1 and 2 Body Units with their expansion kits are the series’ signature products. Most components are sourced from Dongguan and nearby cities, assembled by Zoey and Tonyn themselves.
Industry and Historical Significance
Alice has used the Star Child bodies for work and living for many years, contributing significant real-world data for humanoid robotics research. The project is also a key reference in ISO standards for humanoid robotics, recognized as a pioneer in the field.
Compatibility in Evernight Era
Even in the Evernight Era, many robots still have design traits inspired by the Star Child series and adhere to the same ISO standards. As a result, Alice can use the latest components with minimal hindrance.
