Diaochan the Spirit Weasel

Diaochan (full name: Ren Diaochan, Chinese: 任貂蝉) was a spirit weasel living in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. Her human identity was the adopted daughter of the prime minister Wang Yun, known for her talent and courage.

During the reign of the treacherous warlord Dong Zhuo, Diaochan used her beauty to get close to Dong Zhuo’s general Lu Bu, prompting him to rebel and kill Dong Zhuo (CE 192). Afterward, she quietly left and made a living by healing people with spells while wandering through the chaotic Three Kingdoms period China.

Diaochan documented all her spells in a book titled “Essential Spells for Spirit Animals,” which became a valuable reference for later spirit animals in China.

Inspired by Lu Bu’s war horse Chitu, she also invented the “Horse Dash” in Acrobatic Spells.
