This is a fan art of Captain Bokko from Tezuka Osamu’s Wonder 3 (W3) and a crossover idea with Zootopia. Captain Bokko is a white rabbit with black head tuft and black eartips. She is a well-known character in Japanese kemono (furry) community because of her cuteness and tragic story. In Wonder 3, she is some sort of space police officer in disguise. So I thought it would be fitting to put her in Zootopia’s universe.
Because Bokko is a Japanese manga character, I redesigned her have many Japanese elements. Her name is Hoshino Bokko (星野墨子), the surname “Hoshino” means “From the stars”, which reflects her space police officer background in W3. Her city is Edo, which is an historical name for Tokyo. I designed her police uniforms based on Japanese Police Uniforms. I also took elements from Patlabor, a police/robot genre anime to make her more interesting.
Bokko and Judy from Zootopia are both very capable police officers. But Bokko ranks higher than Judy, and she approaches situations differently than Judy. I think they can have some funny interactions together.
Although it was in the middle of my low period (2012 – 2022) as an artist, I had a great time conceptualizing drawing this set of pictures. Perhaps I did it just for fun, and thus had no distracting thoughts in the process. I still like these pictures very much.
