The Evernight Era is a future epoch in which robots have inherited human civilization. There is an unknown interval between this era and humanity’s Sunset Era. In the year 246 of the Evernight Era, Alice was awakened by Cloud.
Endless Night and Snowfield
In the Evernight Era, the sun mysteriously disappeared, causing Earth’s entire atmosphere to freeze and descend as snow. The last human had long since passed away, leaving behind robots to inherit the remnants of a fractured civilization. These robots gathered within Geocity—the final functioning underground sanctuary—awaiting their inevitable demise.
Deteriorating Robot Society
Most robots chose to abandon their physical forms and uploaded their consciousness into a digital cloud, where they could enjoy “exciting lives” in theme park-like virtual realms. Only a small number chose to remain in the physical world, dedicating themselves to maintaining the deteriorating infrastructure and exploring the snowfields for remnants of human civilization.
Upon her arrival at Geocity, Alice was utterly shocked by the state of the robot society. Determined to change the trajectory of civilization’s future, she embarked on a new journey.
