The Snow Bandits (Chinese: 雪盗) are robot outlaws that roam the snowfields of the Evernight Era. Some act alone, while others form gangs. They survive by raiding Geocity facilities and the Snowfield Expedition Teams for supplies.
Composition
Many Snow Bandits are survivors from abandoned underground sanctuaries, rejected by the overcrowded Geocity. Some are anarchists disillusioned with Robot Civilization, while others are fugitives from Geocity. Additionally, some Geocity citizens live among the Snow Bandits for various reasons but do not participate in their raiding activities.
Life
Living by raiding: The Snow Bandits lead a harsh life, their bodies are worn out and they suffer from severe shortages of electricity and supplies. Unable to be self-sufficient, they rely on raiding Geocity and the Snowfield Expedition Teams for resources. To the robots of Geocity, they pose the greatest threat on the snowfield.
Rough and tough: The Snow Bandits’ robotic bodies often show signs of repair with used parts. They typically leave minor damages unfixed, cleverly incorporating superficial flaws into their design. Their style is rough and bold, contrasting sharply with the robots from Geocity.
Each for their own: The Snow Bandits are more inclined to anarchism, pursuing absolute personal freedom and preferring to act alone or in small groups. Recently, however, larger gangs have emerged, such as the “Pollux” gang led by Gracie the Robot Gazelle.
Aizu Worship: The Snow Bandits have a unique variation of Aizu Worship, distinct from that of the Geocity. They believe Aizu is sleeping in an unknown ruin from the Sunset Era and actively search the snowfield for ruins in hopes of salvation.
Predicament
Lack of technical expertise: Snow Bandits generally lack the necessary technical skills. They can perform only basic repairs on their robotic bodies and common equipment, with only a few mechanics capable of in-depth maintenance.
Due to insufficient heavy machinery and knowledge, the Snow Bandits cannot effectively excavate relics buried under the snow or repair the equipment they uncover. The Snowfield Expedition Teams often learn about new relics from clues left by the Snow Bandits. Protected by the Shadow Vigilantes, these teams take valuable items while leaving low-value ones for the Snow Bandits to collect.
Internal conflicts: Within the Snow Bandits, individuals and groups frequently clash, leading to unnecessary casualties.
No way out: While many Snow Bandits adhere to their anarchist beliefs, some yearn to escape from this misery and join Geocity. However, the Robot Engineer Association‘s reject and annihilation policy leaves them with no way out.
Conflict between livelihood and ideology: Harsh living conditions in the snowfield make it difficult for robots to survive alone. Consequently, many Snow Bandits have been compelled to form gangs in recent years. However, managing these gangs involves power distribution and hierarchy, contradicting their anarchist beliefs.
