Spirit bands are essential accessories for spirit animals, aiding them in casting common spells while in human form.

Principles

A spirit animal’s ability to sense and manipulate spirit power is significantly diminished in human form, making it difficult to use anything other than shape-shifting spells. To address this, since the Age of Desolation, spirit animals have been crafting spirit items embedded with spell marks to assist spell casting in human form. These items typically take the form of hand bands and are known as spirit bands.

Traditional Bands

In the Age of Desolation, early spirit bands were often made of ropes or animal skins. Due to the primitive spell marks and the crude materials and craftsmanship, each band could cast only one spell with low efficiency and durability.

By the middle of the Age of Desolation, most spirit bands evolved into metal or jade bracelets or beads, capable of casting multiple spells with significantly improved efficiency and durability. These designs became standard templates for spirit animals across generations, changing only in decorative details until the introduction of new smart spirit bands.

Smart Bands

In recent years, a new type of electronic spirit band has emerged. These bands integrate human technology to memorize and perform diverse spells while functioning as smart bands that can wirelessly connect to smartphones. Due to their powerful functions and low price, they quickly replaced the traditional ones.

The key functions of these new bands include enabling telepathic conversations in human form and sensing nearby spirit animals that also wear them.

The development of the new bands is largely credited to Zoey and other young spirit animal researchers. They conducted groundbreaking research on spirit power and spells, resolved technical challenges, and utilized human production lines for mass production, significantly lowering costs and making the bands widely accessible. Today, when spirit animals refer to spirit bands, they typically mean these new ones.
